Here are some quick tips about how to get ready to make the most of your assistance session

Online vs. In Person / V.I.P

What you need to do to prepare for your assistance largely depends on whether you have booked an Online / Virtual session, or, an In Person / V.I.P session:

  • V.I.P / In Person – It’s very easy. Simply relax & wait for us to reach out to you.

    We will call / email you to re-confirm the address where you want the session delivered and will ask you a few additional questions about what you need assistance with.

  • Online / Virtual – It is very important that you prepare for the session to avoid wasting the time of the session dealing with remote access / connection issues.

1 - Ensure we know your needs

During the booking process we asked you to explain what you need. However, if you want to elaborate or amend that please mail us at [email protected] using the same email address you registered during your booking and quoting your order number.  (We sent this to you by email)

Any additional information about your needs will help us to better prepare, as well as, will help you make the most of your session.

Some examples of useful information for us may be: what device (s) you are using, what OS they use (Android, iOS, Windows, etc) and what software / apps and type of network you are using.

2 - Ensure you have a reliable Internet connection

In most cases, we will only be able to help you with your device (s) if we can connect to them in order to troubleshoot the issues you are experiencing.

If you do not have access to a reliable and stable connection to the internet, it is unfortunately unlikely we will be able to easily connect to the device, and therefore, it is highly unlikely we will be able to help you effectively.

Broadband connections via Ethernet / wired or WiFi connections tend to be reliable, while Mobile data connections may not always be.

With our guidance, we may need your help to make some minimal configurations on your own device to allow us to perform remote access.

3 - Avoid distractions & interruptions

One of the most common challenges we experience is to help our customers with all their needs within the limited time available during a given assistance session.

To reduce the need to book additional sessions when you run out of time, please treat you session as an important business event, making sure you are free of any distractions such as background noise and of interruptions such as those from relatives or colleagues who may need your attention. 

Our Tech Gurus are typically booked back-to-back, and therefore, they will be unable to continue to assist you beyond the time booked, to ensure they can assist other customers like you on time.

3 - Tech can help us help you with your tech 😉

  • In the ideal scenario you would have access to the following technology to enable an effective remote communication:
  • A landline so that we can have a clear and crisp audio line available to talk to you and independent from any internet network constraints.
  • A mobile device (a tablet can do too) with Internet access so that we can use video  and pictures when required to enrich our communication  (for example via WhatsApp or Duo)
  • As explained above the device you need assistance with shall have access to a reliable Internet service.
  • Last but not least, all battery operated devices you use during the session should be fully charged or plugged to a continuous power source to avoid interruptions due to battery discharges.

That’s all. Don’t worry too much, if you have only a mobile phone with you, we will in all cases do our best to deliver your assistance using whatever you have available.
